PAL Insurance Brokers is a coverholder at Lloyd’s and was founded in 1989 by Bob Morrison, a veteran of the Canadian insurance industry with a knack for identifying specific needs in the Canadian insurance marketplace.

Bob coined the term “Party Alcohol Liability” to describe the specific type of insurance required for special events serving alcohol. Party Alcohol Liability or PAL policies are now known across Canada as the gold standard in event liability insurance.  Eventually PAL expanded its specialty insurance offerings to include Contents in Storage, Safe Grad, Exhibitor Liability, Server Liability and Weddinguard. Further niche commercial programs offered include ATM & VLT insurance, Event Cancellation and Prize Indemnity, such as Hole in One and Hockey Scoro contests. PAL’s newest programs include Performer Liability, Caterer Liability, Collectibles Insurance, and even insurance for Food Trucks!

Since 1989, PAL has insured tens of thousands of events across Canada, from small family gatherings to large fairs and festivals. PAL had the first and only online platform in Canada designed to allow customers to apply for and obtain specialty insurance in minutes. PAL was named a Five Star MGA in 2017 and 2018 by Insurance Business Canada, and was nominated for MGA of the Year in 2017 and 2018. Both PAL’s General Manager Matt Taylor and Special Events Department Lead Stephanie Langlois have been named Young Guns in the Insurance Industry by Insurance Business Canada.
